What is Underfloor Heating?
Underfloor Heating is a system of pipes that lie on top of, or within, your floor that are connected to your heating system to provide heat.
How does Underfloor Heating work?
There are 2 types of Underfloor Heating ..... water based and electrical. We install the more common water based system that connects directly to your heating system. This type of Underfloor Heating works exactly the same as the radiators on your wall. Water is heated by your boiler (or heat pump) and pumped around the pipes in the floor, to provide a consistent heat throughout the area it is installed.
Can I install Underfloor Heating with my existing boiler?
Yes you can. We can add an Underfloor Heating system to your existing Gas / Oil Boiler, either to replace existing radiators, or in addition to what you currently have (ideal if you are building an extension!). We will need to ensure your existing boiler has the capacity if it is to be installed in addition to your current radiators.
Can I install Underfloor Heating with a Heat Pump (Air or Ground Source)?
Yes you can. Underfloor Heating is the perfect companion to an Air Source (or Ground Source) Heat Pump. Underfloor Heating provides heat over a larger area and works perfectly providing a lower background heat.
